During my early introduction into birth photography I have had the pleasure of meeting a slew of new people. Doctors, midwives, birth educators, doulas, and moms/parents/kiddos galore! With my specialization being Birth Photography it isn’t too surprising that a lot of my new friendships and connections are with fellow labor and birth specialists. I’ve met some awesome doulas in the past few months and had the pleasure of getting to capture a nursing session for one of them.
Through our meetings, playdates, consultations and client interviews, Evangeline and I have had a lot of occasions to get to know one another. From sharing about our lives growing up, similar people we know, our personal birth stories, and even learning that her son and my youngest daughter have the same birthday. Not just the same birthday either, but we labored and delivered them at the same hospital, with the same midwife, in rooms right next to one another. It’s no wonder our kiddos get along so well, they have been in sync since birth ; )
In a few months from now her little boy (and my youngest!) will be turning 2. We were talking and thought it would be fun to do a nursing session in one of our current favorite spots, a local blueberry farm. Nursing is such a sweet season in life, and when our babies wean it is easy to miss those quiet and tender moments between us and our children. To capture one of those sessions of time is such a joy for me. Getting to freeze that time for a mom to keep.
Here are some of my favorites of my session with Evangeline and Atticus.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in a professional nursing session, or baby wearing, check out my Booking page and contact me.
After our session ended we hung around and picked some berries to take home. Having a sweet little boy help you pick fruit is pretty much at the top of my favorites list right now.
